Many different sports nutrition and functional food companies in Europe offer konjac-based products, which are made using the root vegetable due to its virtually non-existent nutrition profile. It gets turned into all different shapes and sizes, just as Tsunami Nutrition in Italy has done with its konjac pasta line, giving consumers familiar foods without the calories. The series is made up of three items, all with the same recipe but different formats in Konjac Spaghetti, Konjac Noodles, and Konjac Penne.
Each of those new Tsunami Nutrition innovations is named after the shape the konjac root has been morphed into, with long thin noodles for Konjac Noodles and then slightly thicker tubes for Konjac Spaghetti. No matter which of the three you choose, they all have the same nutrition profile in a 100g serving, and as expected, it’s practically non-existent. There is no sugar or carbohydrates, only fiber, and a calorie count of five, making it an ideal product for those wanting to keep macros to a minimum.
Tsunami Nutrition makes all of its Konjac pasta items in small pouches, 200g to be exact, which is not a lot if you’re throwing it down 100g at a time. Rightfully so, the cost of the functional food is not all that much at €2.90 (3.03 USD), and that goes for any of the three: Konjac Spaghetti, Konjac Noodles, and Konjac Penne.
