Core Nutritionals has been a premium supplement company since it started, genuinely putting in more active ingredients and higher dosages than most of the competition, and it has been doing this for about two decades. It has notoriously stuck to a single entry for each category and made sure you got everything you needed in those products. This year, the brand is taking an alternative approach to the pre-workout space with its first cost-effective variant in Core Pre.
Value-focused pre-workouts have become quite the trend over the last year or so, with big names like Raw Nutrition, Gorilla Mind, Kaged, and even the powerhouse Apollon Nutrition, crafting supplements for the category that are still stacked but come at a lower price point. Core Pre is the answer to that approach from Core Nutritionals, offering a variety of benefits from a quality set of ingredients, but not as broad as its star player, Core Fury, and with a lower price tag attached.
Core Nutritionals brings together eight of the most reliable ingredients for its upcoming Core Pre, which is a cost-effective pre-workout with dosages that are equally reliable and efficacious. You have citrulline and betaine for pumps at 6g and 2.5g, respectively, alpha-gpc for focus, the classic performance-enhancer beta-alanine at its full 3.2g per serving, and finally, caffeine at 200mg for uplifting energy.
Per Serving | |
L-Citrulline | 6,000mg |
Beta-Alanine | 3,200mg |
Betaine Anhydrous | 2,500mg |
N-Acetyl-L-Carnitine | 1,000mg |
Alpha-GPC | 300mg |
Caffeine Anhydrous | 200mg |
AstraGin | 50mg |
Electrolyte Blend | 200mg |
Those amounts do leave open the ability to go above a single serving, maybe even two, and even at that amount, it won’t be anything we haven’t seen before. It helps Core Pre work as both a value-first pre-workout and something you can also scale up and throw down on days and workouts where you may need a bit more. It’ll push the citrulline to a potent 12g and caffeine to 400mg, and with 30 servings in a full-size tub, consumers have room to go that route if they so choose.
Core Nutritionals is planning to launch its Core Fury alternative this Wednesday through its website, and we do know how much it’ll cost. The regular retail price of the value-driven Core Pre will be $34.95, right around the other cost-competitive pre-workouts, and again, that is for 30 servings, not the 40 half and 20 split. The brand is also launching the product in only authentic Fun Sweets flavors, with three to start in Blue Raspberry, Orange Cream, and Cherry Berry Cotton Candy.
