Viking Power introduces another pre-workout focused more on strength and performance

Viking Power is our two-time International Brand Of The Year, an award that is most definitely deserved on both occasions. All the way from the Swedish market, the house brand from MM Sports is absolutely relentless with innovation, month in and month out. Despite its already large size and wide variety of categories it covers, Viking Power continues to find gaps and categories to introduce more supplements. The latest from the brand is another example of that, as it is hitting the pre-workout space yet again with Balder.

There are already a few pre-workouts available from Viking Power, including Thor’s Hammer Mjölner, Valkyrie, the carbohydrate-fueled Armageddon, the powerhouse Leviathan, and even the on-the-go offerings the PWO Energy Drink and Viking Shot. Balder falls into the same sort of area as Leviathan, being a premium pre-workout, although it has a stronger balance of strength and performance ingredients. Some of its components can be found in Leviathan, but it is those that aren’t the same that separate it.

There is 8g of pure citrulline for pumps, 2.5g of tyrosine for focus and 300mg of caffeine for energy. Driving the performance and endurance is a double dose of beta-alanine at 6.4g, 400mg of ATP, CellFlo6 at 300mg, half a gram of the quality electrolyte source, pink Himalayan salt, 5g of the traditional strength driver, creatine monohydrate, and the powerhouse Senactiv at 50mg.

The difficulty with doubling, tripling, or, in this case, quintupling-up on a particular category is making a clear difference between each of them. Viking Power’s Balder does that pretty clearly, with the infusion of creatine, premium Senactiv, ATP, and the extra high hit of beta-alanine, making for a more performance-focused competitor.
