Slate puts a higher concentration of protein into its Nutrition Shake and it’s a bit leaner

Slate Higher Protein Chocolate Milk

The protein milkshake company Slate started with an absolutely delicious protein beverage, genuinely reminiscent of traditional flavored milk. Despite the taste, it delivers an on-point nutrition profile led by 20g of protein, just a gram of net carbohydrates, and a calorie count of 100, similar to most quality protein RTDs and even some protein powders. There are several flavors to choose from in Classic Chocolate, coffee creations like Caramel Latte, and something fruity in Classic Strawberry.

Slate has come out with a second beverage in the Slate Nutrition Shake, which aims for a similar sort of milkshake experience and nutrition balance but at a higher concentration. The latest innovation from the functional company has 32g of protein, 60% more than its original offering, and in the same 11oz can size. The carbohydrates remain similarly low at 3g with a gram of that sugar, under a gram of fat, and 150 calories. Slate’s all-new Nutrition Shake actually works out to be leaner overall than its Core Shake, giving you 60% more protein, although only 50% more calories, while preserving that signature taste.

If you like the variety of the Core Shake, there is unfortunately just one taste to start for the more concentrated Slate Nutrition Shake in a straightforward Milk Chocolate flavor, which we know first-hand is a damn delicious experience and pretty close to your traditional chocolate milk. While you will pay a bit more for the brand’s second high-protein beverage, it’s more than worth the extra protein at $41.99 for a pack of 12, and there are 24 and 48, but they only save you when going the subscription route.
