Podcaster Alex Cooper announced her upcoming entry into the busy hydration category earlier this month with Unwell Hydration. The news was paired with a video featuring several callouts, including the fact that all hydration drinks are for men. Unwell hydration is said to be designed by women but intended for everyone, both men and women, and now we have an idea of what we’re in for. More specific details have since been shared about the beverage, including everything that’s in it.
Unwell Hydration from Alex Cooper has two main features in terms of active ingredients, starting with a variety of minerals to provide a combined total of electrolytes at 740mg. That is primarily made up of sodium at 490mg, then there is 190mg of potassium, and the final 60mg is magnesium, supporting the usual electrolyte benefits of hydration, performance, and recovery. The other side to the Unwell beverage is energy, as there is intended to be enough caffeine to keep you focused, translating to a light 75mg of natural caffeine, right around the same as an 8.4oz can of Red Bull at 80mg.
Some of the other components of Unwell Hydration from Alex Cooper is its low nutrition profile, which is not as low as others we’ve seen, sitting at 5g of carbohydrates in a 500ml bottle, the majority of that added sugar at 4g from cane sugar, and a total of 25 calories. To round out the multi-function product, there is also a blend of b vitamins, with everything wrapped together in your choice of three stevia-sweetened flavors: Orange Hibiscus, Strawberry, and Mango Citrus.
