Most of the additions to the top-tasting catalog of protein snacks from the Swedish functional food powerhouse Barebells are for its original signature Barebells Protein Bar and the smoother, equally sweet Barebells Soft Protein Bar. Very rarely does the company throw anything out there for its plant-based Vegan Protein Bar, despite being on the market for almost half a decade, but this month, right at the end of the year, European retailers are showing up with two new options for that product.
The Barebells Vegan Protein Bar debuted in two tasty flavors in Salty Peanut and Hazelnut Nougat, both packing 15g of plant-powered protein, which were quickly followed by Chocolate Dough, and earlier this year, fans were treated to another taste with Caramel Peanut. Joining those four are two slightly more intriguing flavors, as neither of them is something from the menu of the signature Barebells Protein Bar or Soft Protein Bar with the classic citrus-infused Orange Chocolate and Caramel Choco Chip.
Both the Orange Chocolate and Caramel Choco Chip Barebells Vegan Protein Bar have that 15g of plant-based protein per piece, from wheat and soy protein, then you get 21 to 22g of carbohydrates, only 2g of that sugar, fat a touch under the 10g mark, and calories sitting right on 200. It is a little uncertain as to where Orange Chocolate and Caramel Choco Chip are available as they have shown up in stockists outside of its home market of Sweden, so there may be some exclusivity involved here.
