Myprotein is trying something intriguingly different when it comes to bulk powder supplements and heavily involves the immensely populated protein powder category. Since the middle of the year, the brand has been trialing the removal of scoops in various products and has apparently not received any complaints. The approach comes from an effort to cut back on plastic and become more environmentally friendly and help Myprotein on its way to becoming net zero in 15 years.
According to the international supplement company, its vegan-friendly Plant Protein Superfood became its first item to offer a scoopless pouch, and it is worth noting this doesn’t appear to be something you choose. On the product page of Protein Superfood, it specifically says, “your pouch of Plant Protein Superblend may not include a scoop.” Based on that, it appears to be more of a randomized thing, where if you order one of the brand’s scoopless supplements, you may or may not get a scoop.
This is actually quite an interesting way to go about it, as instead of making it an option and having to produce separate runs of products that have scoops and some that don’t, Myprotein is educating its consumers on getting used to not throwing their scoop away. That is the solution: keep the scoop from your previous unit and carry it forward. The brand has said it’s surveyed its community, and only 20% say they need a new scoop with every order, all supporting its goal of becoming an entirely scoopless line, where eventually you won’t get a scoop in any of the bulk products from Myprotein.
