Clear protein powder has taken over the industry as forcibly and alternatively, as plant protein powder did a few years ago, where brands of all shapes and sizes put together something for the category in addition to their traditional whey-based offerings. While the subcategory has exploded these last couple of years, there are still competitors in the sports nutrition space that have yet to jump, and starting this week, the popular 1st Phorm is no longer left outside.
1st Phorm has revealed and released Phormula-1 Clear, its entry into the busy world of clear protein powder. The well-established brand has followed the majority of other brands that have gone this route and relied entirely on high-quality whey isolate to provide its 22g of protein per serving with no sugar or carbohydrates and a lean 90 calories. That clean nutrition profile is alongside the typical clear protein experience, with a light and refreshing flavor profile, where a protein shake tastes and feels more like fruit juice than a chocolate or vanilla milkshake.
There are three fruit-themed flavors available for 1st Phorm’s newly released clear protein powder, Phormula-1 Clear, in Strawberry Limeade, Lemonade, and Key Lime Pie. The brand itself promises that typical juice-like taste and texture, and the price on it is not too bad compared to 1st Phorm’s original Phormula-1 isolate. Phormula-1 Clear costs $44.99 for a bag of 18 servings, which is more expensive overall but works out 15% cheaper per serving.
