Big 100 is indeed a big 100g protein bar from the legacy sports nutrition brand MET-Rx, and starting this month, there is a spin-off available, the first variant of the product we can recall seeing with the Big 100 Granola Protein Bar. True to its name, the innovation features a granola base, giving the sizeable protein bar a crunchier, crispier, wholesome consistency, as well as more fiber and a notably different eating experience, hence the need to tweak the name and call out the granola part.
MET-Rx’s Big 100 Granola Protein Bar still tips the scales at a hefty 100g, but with that alternative base filled with rolled oats, almonds and seeds, the nutrition profile is not exactly the same. As mentioned, there is more fiber in the granola-based spin-off, as is typically the case with the food itself. The total carbohydrate count is in the same sort of region at 48g per piece, the protein is marginally lower, sitting just under 30 at 28g, the fat is similar too at 12g, and the calories remain at 390.
The macros of the Big 100 Granola Protein Bar are relatively the same as other flavors of the sizeable MET-Rx protein bar, with a bump in fiber, pinch less in protein, although the calories stay right where they are. Outside of that, the crunchier, granola-filled build will offer a nice alternative experience for fans of the Big 100 Protein Bar and its mostly dessert-style flavors, and there are two options for Big 100’s granola spin-off in a classic Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip.
