The coffee giant Starbucks, which has an absolutely astonishing 17,000 stores spread across the country, is serving up a new way to drink uplifting energy that really falls into the energy drink category as it is not a coffee-based product. Starbucks has introduced Iced Energy, exclusively available in the company’s large 24-fluid-ounce size referred to as Venti, and it comes in two flavors, Tropical Burst Iced Energy and Melon Burst Iced Energy, the latter also having a version with an infusion of strawberry puree.
Starbucks Iced Energy isn’t a coffee beverage; it is a carbonated drink that comes with B vitamins, taurine, and a good dose of caffeine at 205mg, 25% more than a can of Monster Ultra, around the same as the tasty Ghost Energy Drink and Redcon1 Energy. Again, it is essentially an energy drink that is served in Starbucks’ signature Venti cup, and it’s nutritionally friendly, impressively featuring no sugar whatsoever, even in that large 24oz volume, and just 5 to 10 calories, although that obviously doesn’t continue over into the Melon Burst Iced Energy with strawberry puree sitting at 42g of sugar and 180 calories.
Iced Energy is a great addition to the Starbucks menu, especially since it is something very different, being a carbonated beverage as opposed to the many coffee options it famously has available. As mentioned, Starbucks Iced Energy is basically an energy drink with a similar level of caffeine to strong-selling and popular competitors in that space with flavors from that space too. Consumers can choose to customize the beverage with add-ins and flavors, as well as varying ice levels from no to light and extra.
