The other half of Redcon1’s big return to functional food, alongside the deliciously intriguing two-texture MRE Brookie, is the MRE Muffin, featuring a similar set of macros and ingredients but in the form of a fluffy muffin. Like the MRE Brookie and the other MRE products that have come to market, the MRE Muffin is made with wholefood ingredients, and it is proudly made without any form of whey to help provide the protein.
Redcon1’s MRE Muffin has a similar sort of consistency to the top half of the MRE Brookie as well as some other collagen-infused protein brownies and snacks on the market. The shape and presentation still have it feeling like an actual muffin while eating, as the brand packages the high-protein food in a classic paper muffin cup that you peel off before throwing down; once again, replicating the experience of a traditional muffin.
There are two flavors available for the MRE Muffin with a similar different to MRE Brookie’s options of Chocolate Chip Fudge and Birthday Cake in Double Chocolate Chip with real chocolate chips and Wild Blueberry with actual blueberries in it. The macros on the MRE Muffin include 15g of protein from collagen, pea, beef, rice, and egg, 20 to 21g of carbohydrates with 7g of that sugar, 7 to 9g of fat, and a calorie range of 210 to 230.
You can see the MRE Muffin already listed at redcon1.com alongside Redcon1’s extensive selection of sports nutrition and active nutrition supplements, although neither of its flavors is currently in stock. When they do eventually become available, the muffin-style protein snack will cost you $34.99 before discount, and that’ll get you a full-size box of a dozen MRE Muffins, working out to a reasonable $2.91 a piece.
