Swedish functional food company Nick’s has come out with a rather intriguing new product, similar to Clean Drink’s environmentally-friendly beverage, Clean Sav:d, made from fruit that otherwise would have been thrown away. The Nick’s release is along the same lines with a slight twist as it is made out of the brand’s own offcuts and leftovers that would typically be put into the rubbish.
Nick’s has teamed up with the specialist supermarket Motatos and its honorable campaign Saved, which is all about saving food and letting as little go to waste as possible. The two minds have created the Saved Nick’s Peanut Caramel Protein Bar, again made from offcuts from the functional brand’s production, and still aiming to deliver a high protein nutrition profile and enjoyable product.
The environmentally-friendly protein snack is smaller than a typical Nick’s Protein Bar at 40g, providing 8g of protein, 12g of carbohydrates, a light 2.3g of sugar, 7g of fat, and a calorie count of 126. As mentioned, the product comes in that one peanut caramel flavor, and it is not available everywhere, only through the brand’s website and Motatos’ Swedish, Danish, Finnish, and German online stores.
