Superhero is a pre-workout from Scitec Nutrition, introduced a little more than half a decade ago and featuring past Mr. Olympia Shawn Rhoden, although it was eventually rebranded with another Olympia winner in Brandon Curry. Superhero debuted alongside several other supplements put together in partnership with athletes who were also on the tub, such as Cedric McMillan’s Intra Edge and Fouad Abiad’s Hydrolyzed Whey Protein.
Scitec Nutrition has just relaunched its Superhero pre-workout, giving it a new formula and a new look that no longer includes Brandon Curry or any athlete for that matter. The European brand has still designed the supplement to support a variety of benefits, including pumps and performance, although with light dosages such as 1.6g of beta-alanine, just a gram of pure citrulline, and 50mg of glutathione, all below what we usually see.
The revamped Superhero does have a stimulating side with plenty of ingredients for energy and focus, although once again, nothing is dosed supremely well. There is 150mg of tyrosine, far below the one to two grams we prefer, 125mg of choline bitartrate, another component you see significantly higher, 383mg of acetyl-l-carnitine, and a total of 300mg of energizing caffeine from caffeine anhydrous, guarana, and green tea.
Superhero doesn’t have huge highlights or an overly impressive formula, but it should be enough to support a moderately enhanced workout, and as hoped, it’s not too expensive. Directly from Scitec Nutrition’s online store, a full-size, 31-serving tub of Superhero will cost you €32.90 (34.64 USD) with three flavors on its menu in Chai Latte, Wildberry, and Cola Lime.
