The Layered Protein Bar is one of Myprotein’s more popular functional foods, and it comes in a whole host of flavors with the likes of Chocolate Sundae, Peanut Butter, and a classic Cookies and Cream. The product gets its name from the fact that it has multiple layers, six to be exact, making for an interesting experience compared to most other protein bars, all while providing a solid 20g of protein.
Myprotein has taken its Layered Protein Bar and created a bit of a spin-off with the more breakfast-suited Breakfast Layered Bar. The product is the same sort of concept made up of six different layers, but it involves themed flavors and a higher carbohydrate nutrition profile. For example, the Breakfast Layered Bar has a crunchy peanut and almond base, with freeze-dried raspberry pieces and roasted buckwheat.
As mentioned, the macro balance in Myprotein’s Breakfast Layered Bar is not the same as the original Layered Protein Bar, starting with less protein at 16g versus the more typical 20g. The carbohydrates are slightly higher than that at 19g, just over 3g of that sugar, 13g of fat, and a calorie count of slightly above 250, with two flavors to choose from in Berry and the roasted buckwheat featuring Salted Caramel.
Myprotein’s Breakfast Layered Bar is available starting this month through its main online store at myprotein.com, where you’ll pay £14.99 (17.06 USD) for a small pack of six, or you can grab just a single bar to sample the product at £2.49 (2.83 USD) which is the same sort of value as the box.
