While limited-time flavors for fall and Halloween are most common in sports nutrition brands from North America, there are many other markets around the world that get in on the action. This year Japan’s Alpron has decided to tackle both of those occasions, with a special edition flavor each for fall and Halloween, and both for its best-selling, soy-based protein powder Alpron Soy.
Alpron almost always comes through with intriguing flavors when it drops one, and that is no different with its latest efforts, including Pumpkin Pie Caramel Chip, adding a bit more sweetness to that familiar pumpkin pie recipe. That is the one with a Halloween theme to it, while the other is all about fall with Waguri Mont Blanc, which is certainly something that needs a bit more explaining.
Alpron’s Waguri Mont Blanc flavor is based on the nutty Mont Blanc dessert made with a purée of the Japanese walnut Waguri, and traditionally topped with delicious whipped cream. As mentioned earlier, the brand is no stranger to unique and, at least for us, never-before-seen flavors in sports nutrition, with Pumpkin Pie Caramel Chip and Waguri Mont Blanc Soy clearing showing that.
Both of Alpron’s fall and Halloween flavors of its Soy protein powder are available for purchase starting this week at ¥2,880 (19.94 USD) for a 1kg bag, and once again, like the season and All Hallows’ Eve, they are only here for a limited time.
