Frozen functional food company Halo Top wants to help everyone “pumpkin responsibly” this fall and not overdo it on the high sugar and hefty calories that come in some pumpkin-flavored products. The product it is specifically referring to is the classic pumpkin spice latte, and to make it easier to pumpkin responsibly, the brand has put together its own healthier alternative to the coffee drink.
Halo Top’s pumpkin spice latte is a combination of three ingredients; your preferred coffee, non-fat milk, and the returning, limited edition Pumpkin Pie Halo Top Ice Cream. Mix them all together, and you get a pumpkin spice latte with more protein, less sugar, and a great taste. The calorie count on the Halo Top recipe is 142, well below the 390 of the 16oz size of Starbucks’ pumpkin spice latte.
Where things get interesting is Halo Top isn’t just sharing the recipe for its protein-packed pumpkin spice latte and encouraging you to do it yourself. The brand is also hosting pop-ups around the country where it’ll be posting up outside popular coffee chains. Halo Top will be giving out cups of its ice cream-infused pumpkin spice latte, although to get one, you need to trade in a pumpkin spice latte from a store.
Halo Top has posted its extensive pop-up schedule on the events tab of its Facebook page, and it goes for weeks. Next Thursday, for example, it’ll be visiting Phoenix, where it’ll be outside Starbucks on Willetta Street then Dunlap Ave later in the day. Halo Top is no stranger to creative marketing campaigns and stunts like this, although this is one of the first we’ve seen from the functional brand in some time and a fun one at that.
