Visitors of this year’s Arnold Sports Festival UK hoping to get up close with the man himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, or even a glimpse of the legendary bodybuilder, will have woken to some unfortunate news. For the second year in a row, Schwarzenegger won’t be making his way to the event taking place in Birmingham, England, from today through until Sunday.
The official social media accounts of the Arnold Sports Festival posted a message earlier saying that Arnold Schwarzenegger would not be making an in-person appearance. The message did include reasons as to why the seven-time Mr. Olympia champion and blockbuster film star wouldn’t be making the trip to the massive sport, fitness, and supplement event.
“While Gov. Schwarzenegger very much wished to attend, we were informed that financial obligations to a variety of people had not been met and requested assurances that the financial commitments to all competitors be satisfied by having monies put in escrow for them. As a result of the Promoter’s failure to do so, and the fact we were never able to reach an agreement with the Promoter regarding details of the appearance, Gov. Schwarzenegger will not appear in-person.”
The Arnold Sports Festival UK was selling tickets to an Arnold Schwarzenegger experience where you would meet him, shake his hand, and get a professional picture taken, all for £500 (543.26 USD). That obviously won’t be happening this year, although all other appearances are said to be going ahead, including Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler, and Lee Haney.
