Greg Doucette and his brand HTLT, meaning Harder Than Last Time, has launched its first-ever functional product, in the high-protein bar-format snack, the CICOBar. Like the name of the brand, CICOBar does stand for something, and it is based on a phrase commonly voiced by Greg Doucette himself with the diet philosophy of “calories in calorie out”.
The full nutrition profile of HTLT’s CICOBar was revealed last week, and it is on the leaner side of the category with 21g of protein per bar, 21g of carbohydrates with 11g of that fiber, 6g of fat, and 200 calories. Alongside the debut of the protein bar, we can now also confirm what’s in it, with the key ingredients being whey isolate, crispy whey pieces, peanut butter, isomaltooligosaccharide or IMO, and a tasty milk chocolate coating.
Unfortunately, we haven’t found a picture of what the CICOBar actually looks like inside or out, although as mentioned with its key ingredients, a coat of milk chocolate is one of them. That obviously means the product itself is covered in milk chocolate, so it is more of a candy bar-style snack, as suspected, rather than the increasingly common nut butter approach.
We’ll be grabbing the CICOBar as soon as we can and really look forward to seeing what kind of experience it provides, especially since HTLT promises enjoyable taste and texture, plus the strong macros.
