The still relatively new, competitively priced, and value-formulated South African supplement company Heavy Nation has decided to revamp one of its first products for the New Year. We first posted about the brand around the middle of last year, introducing Heavy Nation and its then six supplements, including the stimulant-powered pre-workout Sledge Hammer.
It is Sledge Hammer that Heavy Nation has decided to reformulate for 2022, officially changing its name to Sledge Hammer 2.0, although there aren’t all that many differences. The updated product has several of the highlights the first iteration did, including a specific 2.2g of beta-alanine, 3g of creatine monohydrate, a gram of betaine, and 300mg of caffeine for energy.
Heavy Nation’s Sledge Hammer 2.0 has a few key adjustments, starting with the addition of the focus-supporting tyrosine, but not at a huge dose of 250mg per serving. The brand has also switched to GlycerSize branded glycerol, at the same amount of 1.5g, and it has swapped the original’s light 1g of citrulline malate for a much more pump-powering 3g of pure citrulline.
Heavy Nation has indeed made some improvements from its previous version of Sledge Hammer, and with only really positive changes, there isn’t anything for fans of the original to be disappointed about. Sledge Hammer 2.0 is still very cost-effective, available directly from the brand’s website under that $20 mark at R296.10 (19.27 USD) for a tub of 20 servings.
