Joker is a previously released bar-format protein snack from Germany’s Rocka Nutrition, introduced around May of last year, although it was not plant-based and vegan-friendly. The plant approach is, of course, very important, as earlier this year, the brand confirmed its lineup would be completely vegan before the start of 2022, including products it is selling itself and those you can find in stores.
The move to only producing plant-based products, Rocka Nutrition has replaced its Joker Protein Bar with the No Whey Bar Joker, aiming for the same candy bar style as the original but with a vegan-friendly formula. The brand has carried over both of its initial Joker flavors for the Joker Edition of the No Whey Bar in Caramel Choco Chunk and the sweet white chocolate recipe White Choco Caramel.
On the inside of No Whey Bar Joker — ingredients and macros — Rocka Nutrition has changed things up a little more, dropping the product down from 15g of protein to 12. The other macros rounding out the protein snack’s nutrition profile are 12 to 15g of carbohydrates with a contrasting 1.4 to 3.8g of that sugar, 7.8 to 9.8g of fat, and calories of 184 for Caramel Choco and 198 for White Choco Caramel.
Rocka Nutrition has its renewed and now entirely plant-based No Whey Bar Joker in stock and available through its online store, and it is a fair amount more expensive. Compared to the original, through the brand’s website, you’ll pay €39.99 (45.03 USD) instead of €31.99 for a box of 18 bars, or if you’d rather sample it before investing in a whole box, you can grab single Joker Protein Bars at €2.49 each.
