For those who didn’t know, the functional food and sports supplement company Grenade, owns a tank and has done so for a number of years. Yesterday the maker of the delicious Carb Killa protein bar, decided to drive that tank down to the House Of Parliament in London to protest the closing of gyms during England’s latest lockdown that starts today and ends December 2nd.
Grenade has shared its message across all of its social media platforms and definitely made some noise as well as headlines in mainstream media with its tank outside of Parliament. The brand simply feels gyms and health clubs are just as important as other facilities that are remaining open and accessible during lockdown, and they bring with them some important health benefits.
“Gyms are some of the cleanest environments imaginable right now, and easy to social distance. Penalizing people for staying healthy and maintaining physical and mental well-being makes no sense. If schools and universities can stay open, so should gyms and health clubs, especially when the virus is proven to be more deadly amongst those with higher obesity levels.” – Alan Barrett, Grenade Founder and CEO.
There is a petition available online if you’d like to show your support on the UK Government and Parliament website, which is approaching an impressive 600,000 signatures.
