With the end of the year just over two months away, our Brand Of The Year Awards are fresh on our minds as we begin the process of going over everything that happened to see who is in the running. The things we look for and take into account are the same as when we did for our first Brand Of The Year Award seven years ago, although we are switching up the format a bit for 2020.
After introducing a few new categories last year, we found it a bit difficult to announce and place everything. To make it a little easier to follow and share, we’ve made some changes to the nomination process and how it’ll all be announced. The categories will remain as Functional Brand Of The Year, International Brand Of The Year, Newcomer Of The Year, and overall Brand Of The Year.
Where the changes come in is, previously we stuck to five nominees for each award. Starting this year, we’ll be going with however many we feel are in the running and on the same level, as opposed to trying to come up with more, or less, and cut out some deserving nominees. Basically, it means there could be only two companies nominated for Brand Of The Year, and seven for Newcomer.
We will also only announce the winner moving forward, no 5th, 4th, 3rd, or runner-up, just the brand that takes home the respective title. Each category is going to have a week where the nominees are revealed, then the winner a few days later. It keeps the focus on the category, not giving readers too much to remember and follow.
Our Brand Of The Year Awards will be kicking off sometime in December and end early January with the overall Brand Of The Year winner, giving brands the chance to squeeze everything they can, into the year. There is no need to submit any names or votes, we base the awards entirely on what the brands have done throughout the year, and everything shared here at Stack3d.
