Bombbar’s functional spin-off brand Chikalab has been extremely impressive over the past few months, coming out with several creative products and expanding on already available items with tasty new flavors. The Russian company is adding another entirely new food to its growing Chikalab selection this week with something we’ve only really seen from one other brand.
The latest Chikalab creation is Protein Pancake, which is just like Nano Supps’ soft and tasty Protein Pancake. The product is a freshly baked pancake with a creamy, flavorful filling in the center. The Chikalab Protein Pancake comes in two flavors, one with a sweet chocolate filling and the other with a milky cream.
In line with Protein Pancake, Bombbar has also released a product under its own brand that goes by the same name. The Bombbar Protein Pancake is similar to Chikalab’s with one distinct difference: it has the same soft pancake build with a creamy filling but completely covered in chocolate. It has just the one taste to choose from with a buttercream-flavored filling.
Despite the alternative styles, the macros on Bombbar and Chikalab’s Protein Pancakes, aren’t too different. They both have 5.7g of fat and 10g of protein per pancake, despite Bombbar’s being 25% heavier. Where they separate is in the carbohydrate and calorie department, as Chikalab’s Protein Pancake has 4.6g of carbs and 120 calories, while Bombbar’s has 5.7g and 160.
Both Bombbar’s Protein Pancake and Chikalab’s less calorie-dense Protein Pancake are available now from the Bombbar website. Much like the nutrition, the prices on the two are slightly different, with Chikalab’s product being the cheaper of the two at 500₽ (6.40 USD) for a box ten pancakes. You then have Bombbar’s with nine pancakes per box at 630₽ (8.06 USD).
