After sharing a few teasers, details, and images here and there, the maker of the original protein rocky road, Mountain Joe’s, has finally revealed everything about its giant reintroduction. The brand has been hard at work over the past few months, rethinking its lineup, and next week it plans to completely relaunch itself with a new look, but most importantly, a completely new line of handmade products.
Mountain Joe’s is actually dropping its original protein rocky road for its revamp in favor of three different protein bars; Protein Brownie, Protein Flapjack, and Protein Millionaire. Each product offers a slightly different on-the-go, protein snacking experience, from taste right through to texture. While their builds and macros won’t be exactly the same, Mountain Joe’s does promise great taste across all of its snacks.
Protein Brownie
The first item is Mountain Joe’s Protein Brownie, which is of course, intended to provide the rich flavor and soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture of a brownie. It comes with 12g of protein from whey, and has 50% less sugar compared to a traditional chocolate brownie. Protein Brownie also only has the one flavor to choose from, unlike the other two snacks, with Chocolate Caramel.
Protein Flapjack
The next snack from Mountain Joe’s is Protein Flapjack, an oat-based flapjack bar featuring about the same amount of protein as Protein Brownie with 11 to 12g. It’ll have that reliable, crumbly, and wholesome, oat-based body with chips and bits throughout, and three flavors on its menu with Cookie Dough Latte, White Chocolate Raspberry, and Chocolate Candies.
Protein Millionaire
The third and final Mountain Joe’s product is Protein Millionaire, a snack inspired by the popular UK treat, Millionaire Shortbread. The brand’s take on the food comes with 12g of protein, so about the same as the others. It has a classic millionaire build with a crunchy and crispy base, and tasty layers on top, in two flavors with Chocolate Caramel and White Chocolate Caramel.

All we can say is if Mountain Joes’ refreshed family of protein bars is anything like its original rocky road protein bar, then the Protein Brownie, Flapjack, and Shortbread are all going to be worth grabbing. The refreshed family of products is also not too far away from release, as mentioned, with the brand aiming to have it out and available by Tuesday of next week, which is only a few days away.
