Enlightened has once again expanded its line of protein ice cream bars after releasing a popcorn flavor called Movie Night for its tubs one month ago. The brand has actually launched a whole new family of products with a vegan-friendly, dairy-free series of protein ice cream bars in five different flavors.
Instead of being made with skim milk and milk isolate to give it a high amount of protein, Enlightened’s new dairy-free bars use almond milk and broad bean protein. The alternate mix of ingredients does give the protein snack a slightly different nutrition profile with more carbs, slightly more fat, and a lot less protein.
The macros vary across each of Enlightened’s dairy-free bar flavors with 3g to 4g of protein, 18g to 22g of carbs with 5g to 6g of that sugar, 2g to 4.5g of fat, and 90 to 100 calories. As you can see, the protein is a lot lower than the regular dairy bars although the other macros balance it out to give it roughly the same calories.
As for the flavors the dairy-free ice cream bars are available in, two of them are actually entirely new recipes from Enlightened. There is Sated Caramel, Mint Chip, Monkey Business, and the new creations Mocha Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter & Jelly combining peanut butter ice cream with a raspberry jam swirl.
Enlightened has confirmed that its all-new dairy-free protein ice cream bars are now on their way out to stores and stockists across the country. Fans of the brand and its delicious snacks will be able to find the new bar options at ShopRite and HEB Grocery locations, as well as Vons and Sprouts Farmers Markets.
