Redcon1 already does exceptionally well in the competitive protein bar market with its top-rated game changer, the MRE Bar. The brand has however announced that it is launching another competitor for the category with another impressive product currently referred to as the Redcon1 Cereal Bar.
The brand recently previewed its second protein bar confirming that it’s powered by whey and provides 20g of protein, 28g of carbohydrates, 8g of sugar, 6g of fat, and a total of 240 calories. The Redcon1 Cereal Bar is coming in three flavors made with Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, and Fruity Pebbles.
We’ve actually been fortunate enough to get our hands on samples of the Redcon1 Cereal Bar for a full flavor review. We became immediate fans of the brand’s MRE Bar from the first time we tried it, so we’ve certainly been excited to see how Redcon1’s second entry into the protein bar game goes.
Review
The Redcon1 Cereal Bar is yet another incredibly delicious protein creation that’s quite different from the MRE Bar. The consistency of the Cereal Bar isn’t as game-changing as the MRE Bar, but it is just as enjoyable. It has a soft Rice Krispie style body that you can easily sink your teeth into, and it’s filled with actual cereal pieces that you can see and taste.
Where the Redcon1 Cereal Bar truly shines is in the flavor department, particularly with its Lucky Charms and Fruity Pebbles flavors. While they all have a sweet, long lasting vanilla based flavor, the Lucky Charms and Fruity Pebbles Cereal Bars take things up a notch by also delivering an impressive amount of taste from their cereal pieces.
Redcon1’s Lucky Charms Cereal Bar has pockets of Lucky Charms that vary in size and almost create a different taste on each bite. As for the Fruity Pebbles flavor, you can actually taste its title cereal before you even sink your teeth into it, then once it’s in your mouth that signature Fruity Pebbles flavor becomes even more intense.
Summary
Not too surprisingly, the Redcon1 Cereal Bar is another creative and competitive protein snack. It doesn’t have that game-changing consistency like the MRE Bar, but for those looking for something that’s packed full of flavor and really unlike anything else on the market, this is a bar worth trying.
As mentioned, the Cereal Bars made with Lucky Charms and Fruity Pebbles are the best of the three flavors. Their large amounts of cereal pieces not only add a sweetness and taste that is truly unique, but they also make it very obvious what sets them apart from all of the other protein bars out there.
