The functional food company Barebells recently released a limited edition flavor for its number one rated, Barebells Protein Bar. The special product is a Strawberry White Chocolate protein-packed snack that’s exclusively available in the brand’s home country of Sweden.
Thanks to the Swedish supplement retailer Gym Grossisten, we managed to get our hands on Barebells limited edition protein bar for review. As mentioned, the Barebells Protein Bar is our favorite bar on the market right now, so we’re certainly glad we got to try it despite it not being the most accessible product.
Review
As expected, the limited edition Strawberry White Chocolate Barebells Protein Bar is another delicious flavor for the product. It is along the same lines as the brand’s other white chocolate flavor, White Chocolate Almond, in that its chocolate isn’t as rich as the milk chocolate bars, but still very enjoyable.
The Barebells Protein Bar features a smooth, relatively easy to eat consistency, topped with crunchy, crispy pieces and a mostly white chocolate driven overall taste. The other half of the product’s flavor name isn’t all that strong, with the strawberry not being anywhere near as obvious or noticeable as the white chocolate.
When you initially bite into the Strawberry White Chocolate Barebells Protein Bar, there is a moment where you get to taste a bit of sweet strawberry. That moment, however, is very short-lived, making the limited edition protein product more of a sweet, crispy white chocolate flavor with a touch of strawberry.
Summary
While Barebells’ limited edition Strawberry White Chocolate is another enjoyable protein bar, it doesn’t top either of our favorite flavors for the product, Salty Peanut and Caramel Cashew. The mix of strawberry and white chocolate has always been a combination we liked, although since there isn’t much strawberry flavor to this one, we don’t rate it as high as we had hoped.
