Grenade certainly made quite the noise recently when it revealed and released its Carb Killa spin-off, Carb Killa Protein Spread. Knowing how good the original Carb Killa protein bar tastes we assumed the product would be delicious, and today can confirm that is definitely the case.
What is Carb Killa Spread
Before we get into how Carb Killa Protein Spread tastes, we need to explain exactly what it is as we don’t want any confusion. Above all, Grenade’s protein spread is actually more of a lower sugar chocolate spread, or at least a healthier alternative compared to all of the others out there.
It still has a relatively high calorie count with a heavy 33g serving packing 170 calories; however, it has only 2g or less sugar. The reason its calories are still quite big is because of its protein, which stands at a reasonable, but not high, 7g per serving.
It’s not something you’re going to want to have around while dieting. If however you’re going the other way and wanting to pack in the calories, or aren’t tracking your diet that intensely, Carb Killa Protein Spread may work for you. It’s essentially a healthier chocolate spread that’s not as diet-friendly as a Carb Killa bar, or even close to replacing a balanced meal.

Now that we’ve gone over whether Carb Killa Protein Spread is something you can have, we’re going to get into the taste. As expected Grenade has put together something quite special that will leave you in disbelief that there is only 2g of sugar in a spoonful.
The product comes in three flavors, all of which are very easy to get addicted to. There is the regular Milk Chocolate, Hazel Nutter, and the unforgettable White Chocolate Cookie. The Milk Chocolate is our least favorite of the lot but does definitely taste like its title featuring a dense, rich chocolate flavor that’ll leave you craving more.
Hazelnut filled Hazel Nutter
Our second favorite would be Hazel Nutter, which is similar to Milk Chocolate in that it has a sweet and strong chocolate base. To make it more of its own flavor, Grenade has thrown in a hint of hazelnut as well as crunchy hazelnut pieces throughout. The result is a smooth chocolate spread that we can’t help but say reminds us of a more known chocolate hazelnut spread.
Legendary White Chocolate Cookie
Lastly, we have White Chocolate Cookie carrying on the strong reputation of Grenade’s White Chocolate Cookie Carb Killa bar. This one is very different from the others regarding combination of flavors, which is probably why it stands out the most.
The White Chocolate Cookie brings together a much sweeter white chocolate base and a massive amount of crunchy, cookie-like pieces. Despite the crunchy pieces leaving little room for anything else, the sweet white chocolate taste is surprisingly noticeable. The two flavors combine for an incredibly unique experience that’ll leave you a changed person, and even more amazed that a dip of your finger has only half a gram of sugar.
You won’t be disappointed
Going into our Carb Killa Protein Spread review, we weren’t really expecting anything less than delicious mostly because of Grenade’s reputation and the calories in the spreads. We’ve now finished 100% satisfied, and are fairly confident anyone that tries any of the flavors won’t be disappointed.
As mentioned earlier though, you will want to make sure this is right for you and your diet. Don’t go in thinking because it has Carb Killa and Protein Spread in its name that you’re getting something diet friendly. If you care that much, read the nutrition panel and make sure it’s right for you. If it is, prepare to have your life legitimately changed and say goodbye to your usual sugar loaded chocolate spread.
