Over the past few weeks, ProSupps has been running a very different kind of marketing strategy that isn’t exactly centered around a particular supplement. The brand’s campaign is, in fact, focusing on its recently signed athlete Flexatron Shawn Rhoden, and its confidence in him taking the Mr. Olympia title this September.
The most interesting thing with ProSupps’ Shawn Rhoden Olympia marketing strategy are the various images it’s been sharing on social media. While they don’t confirm or announce Shawn Rhoden as the 2017 Mr. Olympia champion, they definitely do their best to provoke that assumption or thought. The most powerful one would be the image that has the text “And The New…”, backed by a picture of Rhoden and the Mr. Olympia name below.
As you’d expect the campaign has spread widely, reaching a variety of different audiences, which appears to include six time and current Mr. Olympia Phil Heath. Not too long ago the Gift himself responded on Twitter to someone highlighting one of the marketing images, saying “This is the hype that makes me end careers”.
To add a little more fire to it all, ProSupps recently posted an interview with Shawn Rhoden to its website. The conversation includes the usual questions and answers up until the point where Rhoden is asked about his feelings towards Phil Heath, to which he says “Phil is a prick and has trashed me on social media for a few years.”
If you’re a fan of bodybuilding, it certainly looks like ProSupps is doing its best to heat things for the Olympia battle in Las Vegas. With the big event roughly one and a half months away, there is still plenty of time for more action, so it’ll be interesting to see what else ProSupps has up its sleeve.
