When ProSupps originally announced that it was getting into the protein bar market with MyBar, we thought it was just another major brand following the trend like everyone else. When it was released we didn’t think too much of it either, as the few pictures we saw didn’t make it look all that tempting. Regardless, we recently got our hands on some for a ProSupps MyBar review, and are happy to tell you ProSupps is not just another average brand taking on the competitive protein bar category.
Best new bar of 2016
ProSupps MyBar has actually turned out to be the closest thing to our current favorite protein bar, Grenade’s Carb Killa. Just like Carb Killa, MyBar is a candy style protein bar, although its form and look is much more like MusclePharm’s Combat Crunch. Its taste however is far from Combat Crunch, as ProSupps has managed to bring together a blend a softness and sweetness, that gives the bar the ability to amplify all the different tastes making up each of its flavors.
At the moment ProSupps’ protein bar competitor comes in four options, Salted Caramel Peanut Crunch, Peanut Butter Crunch, Iced Cinnamon Crunch, and Ice Cream Cookie Crunch. Today for our ProSupps MyBar review we’re only going to be talking about our two favorites, Ice Cream Cookie Crunch and the delicious sounding Salted Caramel Peanut Crunch.
Unique blend of chocolate cookie and ice cream
At first Ice Cream Cookie Crunch looks like ProSupps attempt at cookies and cream, however as soon as you bite into it, you realize it is exactly what it’s titled. The Ice Cream Cookie MyBar is kind of a combination of a chocolate cookie base and a sweet twist of ice cream. The center is where all the sweetness comes from surprisingly, although once you start chewing it all mixes together leaving you with its title taste, Ice Cream Cookie.
It’s a truly unique and incredibly delicious mix of flavors, that fans of chocolate and cookie protein bars will want to start with when they switch to the MyBar. The product’s crunchy outer bits also play a nice role in the overall experience of Ice Cream Cookie Crunch as it really adds to the cookie like side of it all.
Snickers like Salted Caramel Peanut
Of all the ProSupps MyBar flavors, the Salted Caramel Peanut Crunch is the one that has the most mouth-watering name. We can now tell you that it tastes even better than it sounds, and is easily the best one of the lot. The Salted Caramel Peanut MyBar takes full advantage of the bar’s smooth consistency, as it almost relies on the nice easy mix of all of its layers to give you an unforgettable combination flavor.
When you first bite into it you get more chocolate than anything else, which all comes from the flavor’s outer layer. Not too long after that though it quickly mixes in with an even sweeter rush of salted caramel and peanut butter. When it then smoothly comes together with the crunchy peanut pieces, it’s nearly impossible to believe that you’re eating a 220 calorie high protein snack. ProSupps’ Salted Caramel Peanut MyBar is actually one of the very few protein bars we could relate to a real candy bar, as its overall flavor is pretty close to that of a Snickers bar.
ProSupps MyBar is a must try
Of all the protein bars we’ve seen released this year, we’d have to say this is one you need to try above all the others, especially if you’re a fan of candy style protein bars. While we did only go into detail on two flavors for our ProSupps MyBar review, you won’t be disappointed with either of the others unless of course you don’t like cinnamon or peanut flavors.
The various tastes the brand has mixed into each of its MyBars is key and definitely adds to the experience, however its whole build is just as responsible. The way the bar itself is layered and its softness mixes everything together, ProSupps could probably throw in any two or three tastes and come out with a winner. The MyBar is a lot better than we expected and one we certainly suggest you try. The brand has even made it quite easy to buy smaller amounts of the product as it is available in two box sizes, the usual 12 and a half size 6 bar box.
