We got our first look at Novo Nutrition’s high protein breakfast cereal Proteinos back at the FIBO Expo in April, where we also got a sample of the supplement. Since then we haven’t seen any more on the product except when the innovative brand introduced Protein Snax, which is essentially a snack version of Proteinos. While we’re not exactly sure when Novo decided to do this, it has announced that the Proteinos we’ll soon be seeing on shelves is different from the one we originally sampled.
Outside of saying that it has tweaked Proteinos a bit, the only other thing Novo has released is a preview of the supplement which actually gives us quite a few of the changes that have been made. As you can see above the most noticeable change Novo has made is to Proteinos’ packaging, as it no longer comes in a small bag. The brand has switched the product to a box that also gives a much more cereal style look.
Some of the other details we get from the new Proteinos preview is that its macros have been significantly improved. Instead of having just 15g of protein in each 45g serving, Novo has taken the supplement to another level giving it 16g of protein in every 32g serving, and also dropped its calories from 150 down to 126.
Lastly it does look like the upcoming Proteinos is going to have a slightly different menu from what was confirmed back at FIBO. Originally the product was said to be coming in three flavors with Chocolate, Strawberry, and Banana. Looking at the latest image of Proteinos and seeing that it’s Honey & Nut flavored, it would be good to assume that the original menu is no more. Our guess is Novo has done similar to what it did with Proteinos’ packaging and switched to a more cereal like list of flavors, which is expected to be revealed next week.
