The road to the Mr. Olympia is almost always filled with interesting twists and turns. Last year there was a lot of focus on the Predator Kai Greene as just before the 2015 Olympia he announced that he would not be competing. While we’re still unsure on whether or not he’s going to be stepping on stage this year, another story has just come in that’s equally, if not even more interesting.
The man behind the Levrone Signature Series, Kevin Levrone himself, has officially confirmed that he has come out of retirement. The story gets even more exciting as the Maryland Muscle Machine is returning to the sport to compete in the 2016 Mr. Olympia. Levrone has in fact been given an invitation to the event from the contest organizers, meaning he doesn’t have to win an IFBB pro show or accumulate any amount of points to qualify.
For those that don’t actually know who Kevin Levrone is, he was an incredibly competitive bodybuilder back in the 90s to early 2000s. He took part in almost 70 pro contests, with a total of 23 wins, and was first runner-up four times at the Mr. Olympia. He’s definitely going to be bringing even more attention to this year’s Olympia, which is set to take place in Las Vegas four months from now.
