A few weeks ago we posted a review of Got7 Nutrition’s Protein Chips, saying they are the best protein chips we’ve ever come across. Today we have a review of another supplement from the European brand which is actually even more impressive than its chips. The product in the spotlight this time around is Got7’s attempt at high protein Nutella with its Chocolate Hazelnut flavored Protein Spread.
While the supplement can be used pretty much everywhere you’d use any other spread, as its consistency is fairly normal. This review is based purely on its taste, so eating it straight rather than spreading it on something. Fortunately it is also the most enjoyable way to eat Got7 Protein Spread, although not necessarily the healthiest as its delicious taste makes it hard to put down.
Another incredible effort from Got7
Basically Got7 does yet another incredible job with its attempt at a high protein Nutella. While it isn’t as smooth or as chocolatey as the real thing, and its texture is a little off, the product does get closer than you’d expect. As soon as it hits your mouth you can immediately identify that it’s chocolate with just the right amount of hazelnut. The flavor is in fact quite rich, so much so that you’ll have trouble believing it has almost no sugar with less than a gram in each 10g serving.
From start to finish the Got7 Protein Spread does manage to hold a good sense of its flavors, however that first few seconds is where it packs the biggest punch. As you slowly chew through it the supplement’s tastes do unfortunately tend to fade a bit, with the hazelnut disappearing a lot quicker than the chocolate. When you reach the end the lone chocolate flavor does end up getting a bit grainy, which isn’t too bad as you can simply pick it back up again with another bite.
Definitely worth giving a go
Overall Got7’s Chocolate Hazelnut Protein Spread is a solid effort. You can clearly see from the product’s taste what the brand was trying to do, as even though the likes of its texture let it down, the combination gets it surprisingly close. Essentially if its macros fit your diet it’s definitely something you’ll want to try if you’re within reach of a Got7 stockist.
