We were first introduced to Giant Rush at this year’s Arnold Australia, which is also where the brand officially launched it. If you haven’t seen the supplement before, it is fairly straightforward formula being a 100% transparent combination of just three ingredients. The most important one of the three is kigelia africana extract also referred to as DMHA. Since the Arnold Australia in March we’ve actually been trialing Giant Rush, and have now used it enough to bring you a complete review.
It is a stimulant powder, not a pre-workout
The one thing we have to mention before we go into our review is that despite Giant Rush looking like one, it isn’t a pre-workout. The product’s official description is “maximum potency stimulant powder”. Basically it can be used as a pre-workout, but it has been designed for a little more than that. You can also use it for weight loss, as a bit of an energy kick in the morning, or really anywhere you feel you need stimulants.
Great energy and focus as expected
Since Giant Rush does only have three ingredients, we kind of knew what we were getting into before we tried it, especially since it uses the impressive DMHA. As expected the supplement delivers incredibly well with eye-opening energy and laser focus. After just one scoop, Giant Rush will have you up and moving fairly quickly, and for a relatively long time. The energy does a great job at picking you up even when you’re tired, and the focus is more than enough to get you alert and your mind on the job at hand.
Giant Rush reminds us a lot of Triple X, another DMHA infused formula although that is a pre-workout. The energy is just as smooth, and the focus almost equally on point. Giant Rush does have a maximum of two scoops, so you can bump it up if you need. The extra serving obviously adds more energy and focus to the experience, however we wouldn’t quite say twice as much, more like another 50%. When we bumped it up we definitely had to do some form of exercise, which is where our experimenting really started with Giant Rush.
The two effects described above are based on just taking Giant Rush for a simple energy kick. As mentioned it does do a lot more than that, offering a relatively long-lasting hit of energy and focus. The other two scenarios we used the supplement in were cardio and pre-workout, which will probably help you decide whether Giant Rush is what you’re looking for.
Perfect for low intensity exercise
For a low intensity cardio session Giant Rush is somewhat perfect. It’s no surprise that it actually competes with a lot of fat burners while only being made up of stimulants, as that is what a lot of fat burners are, energy pills. The product gives your body the rush it needs to get moving or moving faster, with the focus really getting your mind in the zone it needs to be for cardio. We never needed any more than the one scoop for low intensity work, as two was a little too stimulating for cardio.
Not enough to compete as a pre-workout
As for Giant Rush’s true test, as a pre-workout, it is great for those who like stimulant driven experiences. If you’re someone who enjoys working out on the likes of a fat burner, or are just looking for a high quality kick, then Giant Rush is worth a try. If however you want more out of your pre-workout such as pump, performance and intensity, then you’ll probably want to give it a miss or at least stack it with one or two others.
For a workout Giant Rush simply doesn’t offer that more performance powered energy you get from the likes of Game Day, Nitramine or HyperMax. In the supplement’s defense it is only a “stimulant powder”, so it was never really designed to deliver the all around experiences you get from the more complete competitors such as DVST8 White Cut. Unfortunately we aren’t exactly big fans of stimulant driven pre-workouts either, in fact the closest supplement we like of that kind would be Game Day, although that does have a fair bit of pump and much better energy.
Delivers as a “stimulant powder”
As a “maximum potency stimulant powder”, Giant Rush does do its job. It packs a nice smooth energy hit and five star level focus, which is ideal for a pick me up. It’s also perfect for low intensity work like cardio, with enough energy to get you through an easy 30 to 60 minutes. When it comes to pre-workout though we don’t quite feel it competes with all the other powerhouse formulas on the market. As mentioned however if you enjoy stimulant driven experiences you might want to give it a try or even stack with one or two stimulant free pre-workouts.
