While fans looking for a vegan BCAA formula do have a lot more options these days than they did say a couple of years ago, there still aren’t many that cater to the market. One of the few that does is Inspired’s competitor simply titled Inspired BCAA. The supplement is fairly straightforward featuring 5g of its title ingredient alongside a seaweed sourced electrolyte blend. The next question of course like with most amino cocktails is how does the product taste, which is exactly what we’re going to go over today in our Inspired BCAA review.
Firstly the supplement does come in two flavors, with Berry Bomb and Bahama Mama. Unfortunately we only have the one flavor for our Inspired BCAA review in Berry Bomb, although we can’t really imagine the two being overly different. As you’re about to find out when we go over the taste, the BCAA does have a very distinct twist to it which is probably much the same in Bahama Mama.
Best berry BCAA we’ve come across
Before you even start to drink the Berry Bomb Inspired BCAA you’ll actually be hit by it’s incredibly powerful smell. It is there where you’re almost 100% sold on it tasting good as the scent packs so much flavor you feel there is no way it could be any worse than great. As you then take that first sip you quickly realize it does smell better than it tastes, but only by a bit. The somewhat strong scent gets replaced by a sweet berry flavor that depending on how much water you mix the BCAA with, will hit you like a train or a diluted berry beverage. Which ever way you go the flavor is extremely obvious and is in fact the best berry BCAA recipe we’ve ever come across. It’s easily the closest thing you’ll get supplement wise to biting into an actual berry for that real sweet and tangy berry juice flavor.
Powder to water ratio
Moving on to how to get the best flavor out Inspired BCAA, we found the perfect balance of powder and water was around 6 to 8oz to a single scoop, with anything less coming off a little too sweet. If however you go the other way by mixing it with more water like most would for the likes of a workout or to take in BCAAs throughout your day, there is no need to worry as it still tastes phenomenal. Actually the more you mix it with the more consistent the addictive berry flavor is. Up in the area of 12 to 16oz Inspired BCAA’s sweetness does of course die out a bit, although it results in a longer lasting taste that makes it difficult to stop going back for more.
Better than almost all non-vegan BCAAs
Going into our Inspired BCAA review we honestly didn’t think the product was going to taste that good, or at least different compared to all the other BCAAs out there. Much to our surprise the vegan formula does in fact taste better than almost all of its competitors. While we did only try the one flavor, as mentioned earlier we imagine the sweetness and tang that makes Berry Bomb so good is probably quite similar in the cocktail inspired Bahama Mama. After our experience with Berry Bomb we actually want to give Bahama Mama a go, and can’t help but look forward to any other BCAA recipes Inspired puts together.
