Last year Optimum Nutrition put together a competition they called Lead The Whey. Whether or not you remember the contest, it resulted in the production of a Salted Caramel Gold Standard 100% Whey. Despite the promise of just one new flavor coming from the promotion, we also ended up seeing a second in Key Lime Pie. Optimum is back again this year alongside GNC with another Lead The Whey competition, although this time there is a lot more to it.
Unlike last year it appears there won’t be a round where flavor suggestions are submitted. Instead three have already been selected, and more importantly actually produced. The options in the 2015 Lead The Whey are Mango, Blueberry Cheesecake, and the most interesting one of them all, Chocolate Dipped Banana. As mentioned the three have been put together and will in fact be available for purchase in three serving trial size tubs at GNC somewhere around early October.
Just as Optimum did for Salted Caramel, Key Lime Pie and Maple Bacon, this year’s Lead The Whey contestants are being voted on, with the most popular flavor officially joining the Gold Standard 100% Whey menu. While you won’t be able to try Mango, Blueberry Cheesecake or Chocolate Dipped Banana for another month or so, voting has already opened. If you do decide to vote now based on just the names of the flavors, that won’t stop you from doing it again when the trial sizes are released as you are able to vote once a day.
To have your say in Optimum and GNC’s 2015 Lead The Whey you can vote on their contest page, and of course be on the look out for the three flavors in the next month or two.
