While we do like it better when a pre-workout supplement delivers more than two effects with combinations like energy, pump and focus or energy, intensity and strength. Sometimes products come through with two so well that you don’t really need a third or fourth. The supplement we have for review today is a pre-workout that does exactly that, with Nutrex’s most recently released energizer, Outrage. Despite the brand’s formula being one of the more straightforward pre-workouts we’ve come across, Outrage’s simple combination of five main ingredients make for quite the experience.
Of all the things Nutrex promise for Outrage, this is one of the rare occasions where you get everything that a product promotes. Focus, energy and pump are the three effects that make up the supplement’s performance, although it is only the last two that really stand out. As unfortunate as that may sound with focus lagging a bit behind, when energy and pump are at their best they make for powerful workout, which is indeed the case for Outrage. While Nutrex have yet to enter the dedicated pump pre-workout market, with a formula like this they may not need to.
It all starts with energy
The energy is where it all starts for Outrage, as that is the first effect you’ll notice coming over you 10 to 20 minute after you’ve thrown back two scoops. With very few stimulants in the product it’s no surprise you don’t get overly jittery. The pre-workout concoction gives you enough energy to feel ready to destroy a session without wanting to finish a 60 minute workout in 30. As mentioned earlier there is a bit of focus in the supplement, which is most noticeable in the beginning when the energy kicks in and you’re not yet lifting.
The mental side of Nutrex Outrage isn’t at a level where it’s worth giving a score out of five, however you will notice it kind of balances out the energy. It doesn’t offer things like tunnel vision or zoning in, the focus in Outrage is more of a calmness and thought clearing type experience. The strength or weakness of the effect is a lot more noticeable when you starting lifting as the energy and pump quickly take over almost forcing the focus to completely fade away.
It doesn’t take long for the pump in the pre-workout to start working its magic as depending on your reps and exercises, your focused muscles will start to blow up a little faster than usual. Much like the more swole pump pre-workouts out there Outrage will get you feeling full with the kind of pump you know isn’t normal. Whether it’s leg, arm or chest day, you will definitely notice Outrage doing its job as you find yourself having trouble achieving full range of motion all thanks to the product’s muscle expanding pump.
When pump and energy collide
While the energy does kick in quite early and hit its consistent peak about 5 or 10 minutes into your workout, the pump will take a little longer to reach full strength. This will of course depend on what kind of program you’re doing as obviously a smaller muscle high rep session will get you there faster. Either way you go, when the effect is at its best you’ll see exactly what Nutrex mean by “skin-tearing pumps”. Outrage’s energy provides you with plenty of fuel to perform rep after rep and set after set, with the pump making you enjoy every painful second. The two together combine for one helluva a ride that could see you adding a few exercises in at the end due to how addictive the pump is.
Nutrex Outrage review final words
With Nutrex delivering on all their promises for Outrage, the only bad thing we have to say is that the focus is a little light. Even when it comes to flavor Outrage is spot on with Pineapple Strawberry being quite the treat. Compared to more complete pre-workouts the pump and energy supplement does have a little trouble competing, however it doesn’t appear to have been designed to take out the 10 to 20 ingredient formulas. It does exactly what it says, coming through with an experience that’s both well-balanced and addictive.
Basically if you’re looking for a good dose of energy and a pump that only compliments the hit, Nutrex Outrage is well worth a try. No doubt there are days where the two effects without anything else are exactly what you need, with Outrage being perfect for workouts where you want to isolate an area and destroy the hell out of it. If we had to compare it to anything it’s like a much calmer EVL ENGN, or less intense version of our top 10 pre-workout Neogenix Neurosurge 3.0.
