We’ve seen a lot of flavors added to Gamma Labs G Fuel over the last year, however when the bright white Mystery Flavor was revealed and released we had no choice but to purchase a tub. For those that didn’t know, G Fuel is our go to product when it comes to energy outside of the gym. It’s not overly stimulating, it has a nice smooth lift to it, and it keeps you going even at the lightest of doses. Since we have already established how well the supplement performs, this review is of course about what G Fuel Mystery Flavor actually is.
Initially some of us were a bit confused about this one purely because Gamma Labs give absolutely nothing away in the smell of Mystery Flavor’s powder. Our favorite G Fuel option Peach Mango is the complete opposite, as you don’t need to be close to the tub to pick up on the scent. Either way Gamma Labs even keep you guessing as you mix Mystery Flavor, as it will turn clear water into a cloudy white fog. Once however you move on to drinking G Fuel Mystery Flavor, if you know the fruit the recipe is based on you’ll pick up on it before it hits your lips.
It’s lychee
After a couple of us immediately picked up on the flavor, we decided to get the suspected fruit itself to compare directly. While initially we weren’t all sold on it, after trying the fruit back to back with the G Fuel we are 100% certain Mystery Flavor is lychee. For those that haven’t come across lychee before, they definitely have a taste unique to them. Their smell is noticeably stronger than their flavor, which is in fact quite plain or at least not as sweet compared to a lot of other fruits out there.
As mentioned you can pick up on the lychee scent in G Fuel Mystery Flavor before you even drink it. In the area of actual taste we’d have to say Gamma Labs are pretty spot on. If anything Mystery Flavor is a lot stronger and sweeter than the fruit itself. Even when you dilute it out it still maintains a kind of zest, although at no point does it lose its resemblance to lychee. Despite the extra sweetness separating Mystery Flavor a bit from the fruit, we do feel it does in fact need that added strength. If it was identical to lychee we can’t imagine it being overly enjoyable, as at least with the sweetness it gives G Fuel that artificialness that flavors sometimes need.
Case closed
When we first got G Fuel Mystery Flavor we weren’t planning on doing a review unless we found what we believed to be a 100% match. As it turned out we did find that match and can confidently say lychee is the Mystery Flavor. While our focus was more on what the 11th G Fuel tasted like as opposed to how good it actually tasted, once we made the connection we quickly realized Gamma Labs did a great job on this one. G Fuel Mystery Flavor isn’t something we see ourselves purchasing a second time but it does definitely add another well done and very uncommon flavor to the product’s menu.
