Alongside GAT’s new carbohydrate supplement Carbotein, the brand have recently been promoting their protein powder Supertein. You can see an example of it above, however there is one thing about it that makes you take a second look. Not only have GAT labelled Carbotein as “new” but they’ve also labelled Supertein similar with the tag “new formula”. The big question then of course is what have the brand done to the product that has encouraged them to promote an all new Supertein. The answer is quite a bit.
The most noticeable change to the new Supertein’s label which you can see below is that GAT have removed their Supertein Lean Muscle Synthesis Blend. The supplement now just lists its protein sources in the other ingredients section. It is in there that you also notice there are no longer any free form amino acids listed compared to the previous version having glycine, taurine, glutamine, leucine and valine.
All the changes have affected Supertein’s macros, mostly its protein that now sits at a total of 20g instead of 22.5 or 23. Other numbers that have been altered include the fat which has been dropped between 2 and 2.5g, and the carbohydrates now up higher at either 18 or 19g depending on flavor. As mentioned you can check out the facts panel for the new Supertein below, and it is worth mentioning that some of the big stores are still listing the original’s 23g of protein label.
