Pharmafreak are most well known for their fat burner, the famously named Ripped Freak. Since the brand burst out onto the scene with the breakout supplement, they have since added to their range with a number of formulas. One of their products that over time has evolved into a formula of interest, is the sleep aid GH Freak. It wasn’t overly impressive in the beginning, however now with 3g of GABA, 5mg of melatonin, and DHEA as well as 5-HTP dosed at 100mg each. It is a supplement not to be ignored. To find out if it’s as good as it’s contents list looks, we grabbed a bottle and put it to the test.
To start off it is worth noting that those doses detailed above are based on GH Freak’s maximum serving size. On the product’s label there are three different serving amounts, three, four and five capsules. With of course the five capsule experience being the most impressive. Although the three and four are actually not that far behind.
As with most nighttime supplements, Pharmafreak’s competitive effort isn’t noticeable until it hits. It takes about 15 to 30 minutes after throwing back the product for the sudden drowsiness to set in. When we say sudden, we almost mean immediate, as one minute you are wide awake. Then the next it’s a quick decline from fully alert, to eyes forced shut. In most sleep aids it’s the relaxing and tiring effect that pushes you to bed, then slowly carries you to sleep over a good ten minutes, or sometimes more. GH Freak doesn’t really give you the option of staying awake. If you are not in bed once it kicks in, then you will feel the urge to get in within a few seconds. Alternatively if you are in bed, then it actually takes about a minute before your eyes close, and another minute before it’s good night.
While GH Freak may possibly have one of the strongest knock out effects we’ve ever seen. It doesn’t quite put you in that deep sleep, like some of it’s competitors. If you are someone who tends to wake up to the slightest bit of noise or creep in the night, you may find that restlessness remains the same. With that said you won’t be leaping out of bed when you come to, as that drowsiness that forced you in to bed in the first place. Does hang on throughout the night, putting you back to sleep before you even realize you’re awake. The light level of sleep may be somewhat of a fault. However we only really noticed it on the three capsule introductory serving, with very little disturbance experienced on the five capsule maximum.
The other effect or area that light trance crosses over with is deep sleep dreaming. For those that don’t quite know what we’re talking about, nighttime supplements tend to create rather interesting dreams. The deeper the sleep, the more intense and random the dream. In the case of GH Freak, due to it’s light level of sleep the deep dream effect is essentially not even present. Surprisingly without it, the product gives a relatively unique performance seeing an uninterrupted night or even one interrupted, make sleep go by in a blink of an eye. While GH Freak’s downside may be that it doesn’t put you into hibernation. Thanks to that somewhat weakness the formula has the upside of sleep feeling like it’s over in an instant.
We have to say we are impressed with this one. Pharmafreak have come a long way with the GH Freak formula, and it seems their consistent efforts to perfect the supplement have paid off. As mentioned the sleep aid has one of, if not the most powerful knock out effect we’ve come across. Really taking you from whatever state you’re in, whether it be wide awake or yawn deficient, to lights out. Like many product’s GH Freak isn’t without it’s flaws, although it’s pros definitely out weight it’s con. In fact as highlighted it’s one downside creates an upside, making Pharmafreak’s sleep aid a fast acting dreamless success.
