Amino matrix A-10 put to the test, first look at what EVL nutrition have to offer

Review of EVL Nutrition's amino matrix A-10

EVL Nutrition is a relatively new supplement brand that launched themselves at one of the biggest events on the calender, the Mr. Olympia Expo. When we stopped by the team’s booth at the show about a month ago, they were kind enough to hand us some of their products to try, and see the quality they have to offer. While we usually use a brand’s pre-workout or the flagship supplement they’re pushing to judge how good their line actually is. We figured with EVL’s energizer ENGN in the queue to be reviewed, we would give their amino matrix A-10 the position as the first product from EVL Nutrition we put to the test.

Firstly there are two things we tend to look for in an amino cocktail. The first thing being a strong dose of BCAAs, that isn’t exactly something you would feel while using the supplement, just necessary to look out for on the label. The second is the revitalization and recovery ability that in our reviews, only some formulas have come to offer. The rare property essentially sees both immediate and long term muscle repair, making those amino products that deliver that. Not just great post-workout supplements, but great intra-workouts, stimulant free pre-workouts, and all day long recovery drinks.

As for EVL’s A-10, the product packs a BCAA dose powerful enough to compete within it’s category. It delivers a strong 4:1:1 ratio in a proprietary blend weighing in at 3g per 12.7g scoop, with the rest of the formula made up of things like citrulline, taurine, and tyrosine. From what we experienced those additional ingredients outside of the ever important BCAAs, do offer a noticeable recovery effect. Unfortunately it isn’t at the level we have seen in some of the more successful amino supplements, like Muscletech’s Amino Build, or Cytosport’s Monster Amino. In top recovery formulas such as those two, the post-workout performance is so overwhelming it’s hard to believe just how much ones body can revitalize in the after training window. Not to mention the stimulantless sensation you get when used any other time. While A-10 can make use of that same post-workout window, it’s effect is not an immediate muscle repair motion, nor is it overwhelming. It’s more of a slow and steady picker upper, that may not get your body feeling good enough to workout as fast as the best. But it does help re-energize, revitalize, and repower the muscles to a small, yet noticeable extent.

All up EVL Nutrition’s A-10 isn’t that bad, it has some good flavoring which we base on raspberry lemonade, although overall it still comes in about average for us. We’ve seen quite a few other amino formulas that fall short of this one, so we do have to congratulate the brand on putting something together that goes beyond what most BCAAs do. With that being said the product also has a number of supplements we place a head of it. Leaving A-10 somewhere in the middle of the field, but with a performance that definitely fuels our interest in the brand’s other products on offer.
