One of the industry’s more interesting supplement releases so far this year has to be MAN Sport’s Pure PF3. Right from the beginning the brand promoted the product as a complete protein formula looking to take over the current protein position in your stack While that statement doesn’t seem to be anything out of the ordinary, it is the fact that MAN’s PF3 is said to pack the goodness of a regular protein serving into a concentrated 3.7g scoop. For most that kind of claim would seem outrageous, impossible, just plain absurd. Which to be honest, was along the same lines as our first impression of the unique supplement. However we decided to give the brand the benefit of the doubt, and actually put Pure PF3 to the test. Now today we are not going to talk about the science behind the formula, it’s ingredients, or any of it’s studies. For that visit MAN Sport’s website where you will get a full description of what’s inside the protein concentrate. Today we are just going to tell you how well the product actually worked for us.
The initial issue with MAN’s PF3 was that we weren’t exactly sure on how to test it. All of our reviews are based on using a supplement, which for a protein powder is difficult to go on, as it’s such an ongoing thing for us it’s never that noticeable when we change formulas. Regardless after some hard thinking, we figured we would make the big sacrifice and use Pure PF3 wherever we would usually use a protein product. This included in the morning with oats, post-workout, and at night before bed.
With the rules set in place the experiment of sorts was conducted, and we have to say that the result is positive. When we say positive, we mean that we did not notice anything special. Which is actually exactly what we were looking for, no change at all. Our users reported consistent training, similar recovery, and the usual week to week improvements with reps, strength, and muscle building. If you’re sitting there wondering why that is a positive thing, it’s because for us the thing worked. No loss of muscle, no loss of strength, and despite it’s 10 calories per serving, no loss of weight. It can replace a protein powder. To further prove just how good the protein concentrate is we’ve got a few more points we’d like to get across.
The first area we would like to touch base on is something that we are going to say is the biggest selling point of PF3. With some people, there are issues with digesting regular protein powders. For others they may claim to not even notice a thing. Which directly relates to us and our past experiences with every protein supplement we’ve ever used. That being said, the ability to consume 7g of powder, instead of anywhere between 60 to 80g of a clumpy protein is such a drastic change in intake. That you can’t help but notice the internal comfort.
The common heavy stomach, bloated belly, or even gassy aftermath of your average protein powder is no where to be seen in MAN Sport’s incredible innovation. Not only that, but tested in a group of people who believe they have no problems with whey protein digestion. It turns out that you don’t actually know how bad something is until you’ve tried something good. After using Pure PF3 for almost a month, we could not stand going back to our previous protein formulas. What used to be a smooth post-workout shake now feels like a mudslide down the throat, a moment in life you’d like to forget, and an uncomfortable after training feeling, all of which weren’t noticeable effects before our experience with PF3.
Next up we’d like to dive into cost with the usual price of MAN’s PF3 at about 40 to $50 for 50 servings. In some areas you will find that there are freebies involved, making it’s value that whole lot better. The reason the cost comes into play is because each scoop of Pure PF3 equals one of a protein powder. Putting the unique little supplement right on par with your usual mainstream whey formulas, and their average price. Basically meaning if you make the switch it will not cost you that much extra, if anything at all. In fact if you’re an international customer, or even within the U.S., shipping a 185g tub is a helluva a lot cheaper than a 4 or 5lber.
The final areas we’re going to cover are a couple of random ones, that for us didn’t matter too much. As the overall factor was that PF3 can replace your current protein product. Firstly, something that should be quite obvious based on it’s contents is that MAN Sport’s Pure PF3 will not leave that outdated rank smell in your shaker. Put your bottle on the bench, don’t touch it for a few days, and you will not need a gas mask to open it. Secondly, an area that didn’t bother us too much apart from when using it with oats. PF3 does taste pretty bad. Despite the names, candy grape and fruit punch, they are nothing heavenly. Although as we mentioned these are minor things, and while the flavoring was quite rough, it was bearable, and something we eventually got used to. The last bit of ground we would like to cover is mixing the supplement. Of course the natural thing to do is powder + water + shake = you’re done. However that will result in powder floating to the top, or sticking to the inside of your bottle. We found the best way to mix Pure PF3 without leaving anything behind is to lightly swirl your shaker. It dissolves it perfectly and avoids the after shake froth.
We can’t say anymore than we already have. To summarize it all as best we can, MAN’s new PF3 does, and can replace your current protein powder. It’s a difficult sell, purely because in a logical mind a 3.7g scoop can never be a 30g scoop. But in our experience, it can. We’re not saying anything about the science behind Pure PF3, just the fact that when we used it instead of a protein powder. Nothing seemed to change aside from the many internal luxuries that forced us to order a case in immediately after our tubs were done. We’re not going to say it’s a game changer, as we mentioned earlier, it’s just simply too difficult to convince someone that this small scoop does the same as that big one. What we are going to say is that MAN Sports aren’t lying, and that PF3 worked for us.
