Earlier in the year Scivation revealed their interest in the pre-workout game, with the confirmation of the new supplement Psycho. At the time of it’s expected launch is was set to go up against Gaspari’s Superdrive, and the awesomely powerful ANS Performance Ritual. Before it’s promised April 1st release, the brand did leak the product’s facts panel, which unfortunately didn’t manage shake those interested in the highly anticipated science based Ritual. In a major turn of events, a few days after their failed April 1st launch date, the CEO of the brand announced the pulling of Psycho due to the side effects of an ingredient, and planned to reformulate and release it 12 weeks later. Now almost five month’s after April 1st we have here today a full review of the supplement and all we can say is, it was worth the wait.
After seeing the original formula the brand had planned for Psycho, we weren’t exactly pumped. Then when they pulled it, we figured they weren’t likely to come back with much of an improvement. As it turned out Scivation came back with a vengeance. Not only did they hold on to some of the highlights from the first version, they packed in a whole lot of other stimulants that gave the pre-workout enough power to be respected purely based on it’s facts panel.
Backstories and contents aside, Scivation’s Psycho is hands down one of the best products on the market. When it comes to top of the range pre-workouts, you have to be packing an experience, something Psycho goes above and beyond with.
The energy in Scivation’s pre-workout is at level where there is no way it can get any better. While some you really need to wait for that kick or buzz, Psycho has no waiting, and it’s stimulation comes on like a storm. Around about the time the energy picks up, as you move throughout your workout, the intensity slowly creeps in. With the energy amping up your reps and movement, and the intensity not allowing you to put any weight down. You’ll find yourself destroying your muscles and pushing for even more pain as resting becomes more painful than actually doing an exercise.
The energy and intensity are both things that add to the experience of Psycho. However the big player in this supplement is it’s focus. We have seen tunnel vision, we have seen one mind one body, and we have even seen aggression. What we haven’t seen, and what makes Scivation’s pre-workout one of the most enjoyable performers on the market. Is something it’s title hints at, and that is the Psycho state of mind. If we could find a better way to describe it we would, but it is the best description for the product.
The mental enhancement we are going to call the ‘Psycho state’, plays it’s part well enough to mix in perfectly with the high octane energy and non-stop intensity. In turn the combination of the overwhelming trio pushes you to the point of crazy. Worries of too much weight, asking yourself whether or not you should up it 5 or 10lbs, go out the window. You become a person that just wants to workout rep after rep, set after set, it’s an all out rampage where your mission becomes to break every record. It’s hard not to sound gimmicky when describing the experience of Psycho, but it is all very real. To relate it to other types of focus out there, you do get that tunnel vision however it is more like a, ‘I just don’t care about anything else around me’. You also get that one mind effect as well as a splash of aggression, which as we keep saying. Transforms you into an all out Psycho.
We’re not going to lie, we did not see Scivation’s pre-workout coming off this well. However with an unbeatable performance on the maximum of three scoops, and a mildly powerful showing with a lesser serving of two scoops. Psycho delivers not just on it’s promise to kill it’s competition, but it delivers an experience true to it’s name. We could go on and on about the supplement, it is literally that good. But all that we have left to say is check out our pre-workout ranks. If we didn’t get the whole message across in the above review, then it’s placing on our charts should finish the job.
