Creatine Glycerol Phosphate is the driving force behind the new creatine supplement from Grenade called Engage. Like most breakthrough formulas it comes with an extensive explanation of how much better it is for you and how much more it has to offer. After putting the latest product from the explosive brand to the test we can finally put into words just what this CGP ingredient has to offer. While the descriptions published do cover a lot of ground, none of them really go into what the new creatine form offers in regards to results. If you have been wondering whether or not you should change from your current creatine, hopefully we have the answer with our review of Grenade’s Engage.
The creatine onslaught is not as well packaged as any of the brand’s other supplements. It comes in a resealable bag with a grenade customized scoop. As far as the taste goes, the K.O. punch is exactly what it is titled, a knock out. Raspberry reload on the other hand, despite it’s name, is more reminiscent of bubblegum, with a sweetness you’d expect from some sort of fruit drink. While each flavor is significantly different in taste, they both mix as bad as each other. Once you’ve shaken Engage up with water, and tossed it back. You may need to go for a second round as a large amount of the powder does sink to the bottom. Much like some of the old creatine monohydrates. The mixability issue does actually make the scoop-to-mouth method for once the easier option.
As for the effects of Engage, they are quite different from your average creatine blend or complex. The strength and explosive benefits that you find with most of the top formulas is present. However CGP delivers an outside experience like no other. Usually on creatine you would expect to have an extra 5 or so lbs of bodyweight added after a week. With Engage the size and visual bulking does come, but it is with about a quarter of the expected extra weight. Another effect worth pointing out is the intake of water. Compared to it’s competitors, Engage will have you drinking twice as much and feeling like you are holding half as much. Which is actually quite similar to the experience of a diuretic.
Like many other high end creatine products Engage has it’s own unique luxuries, similar to CellMass, SizeOn, and Cell-Tech. Grenade have a formula that does essentially offer the same results as most other supplements from the category. With the added benefit of what can best be described as a clean experience. No uncomfortable loading, it delivers in training, and even with the added water intake there is absolutely no bloating or as much extra bodyweight. If you are after just gains then Engage is definitely not for you. A 30 serving bag retails for around £28, a big step up on something like Muscle Pharm’s Creatine that will see you through 2 months. Although if the above effects do sound quite appealing and you are one of the lucky few who has money to giveaway, Grenade’s Engage might be worth a round.
