The future Muscletech Performance Series, high priced supplements are open to serious specials

Muscletech’s Concentrate Series did a great job at reaching out to a market that, not only were they not a part of. But a market where their regular prices were not welcome. When word got out on the Performance Series supplements being quite similar in price as well as quality.

Almost every one of the brand’s fans were on the edges of their seats waiting for each product to launch.

Hydroxycut was the first, then Vapor and Anotest. None of them came with the cost we had all lined up for. So the hopes of the Performance line was resting on the shoulders of the veteran duo Nitro and Cell-Tech. The creatine formula returned and joined the upmarket competition of CellMass and SizeOn. Which was not much of a surprise considering their Creacore was already doing some damage at the cheaper end of the category. The staple supplement Nitro-Tech on the other hand, managed to hit the heights with the more expensive price of $60.

The protein powder’s miniature 4lb weight was quite the disappointment. If Muscletech really wanted to offer fans value, a 5lb tub at that same price would have gone a long way.

With half the collection still to be released, it doesn’t look like an overly bright future for Muscletech followers. The first of the next wave was Anabolic Halo, which turned out to be everything we didn’t think it would be.

The one remaining hope for the Performance Series is the brand’s ability to do incredible specials and limited edition runs. On more than one occasion we have all seen Neurocore, Hydroxystim and Creacore combined with a buy one get one free deal. The same goes for Hydroxycut Elite. You wouldn’t expect that from the protein or creatine supplements but in the previous Hardcore Pro line. A number of retailers did buy two get one free deals on both Nitro and Cell-Tech. There was also a short production of 5lb Nitro-Techs at the 4lb price labeled as 20% free.

Muscletech do have the ability to turn their overpriced products into mainstream gold. You may not be able to count on their test boosters Anotest and Alphatest or their more novel supplements like Halo and Myobuild. But pre-workouts, fat burners, proteins and creatines all have it in them to produce some serious price cuts. Something fans could be treated to when the Performance Series is in full swing.
