Brands to watch in 2013, who will set the next supplement trend

In the past year the industry has seen a number of trending ingredients and supplements. There were three areas where we got to see some real competition. The testosterone market heated up with Test Powder and Evotest which were followed closely by powdered variants of A-HD and Super Test. By mid 2012 fans also had a range of new level fat burners available to them. With more concentrated energy formulas like Super-HD, Hydroxycut Elite, Detonate, Hyper Shred and the recently revived OxyElite Pro.

The weight loss and muscle building categories did have there highs and lows but it was the amino acid market that maintained a consistent level of competition since late last year. AminoX and Monster Amino were clear winners up until Aminolast joined in and Muscle Pharm made and attempt with Amino1. Before the year is out the market will take on another innovative new comer, Pure-Amino from Betancourt. Which should prove to be more than another flavored powder.

Every brand wants to be on top, but very few actually set the trends. The big question is what is the next arena the industry will do battle in. There are a handful of companies that we can immediately write off. Not because they don’t have the ability to change the game but because there are other names that have a bit more going for them.

First off one of the big brands that could lead the way in the coming months is BSN. They have been relatively quiet this year. Releasing products here and there like Syntha Isolate, Evotest and Aromavex. By not taking part in the popular individuals race BSN now have a huge variety of ingredients to expand and put a creative twist on, which could easily result in bringing something new or unique to the market. CellMass quality applied to a simple ingredient like glutamine or vitamin would definitely open some eyes.

Another major player that could set the pace for 2013 is Muscle Pharm. They have been on a releasing frenzy since the start of the year with some supplements becoming official and some disappearing into the background. The interesting part of their plays this year was the reformulation of Battle Fuel. If they are beginning to look back at the classics from their Hybrid Series how long until they get to Assault. The pre-workout is easily one of the best in it’s field however they do have the power to improve it. If not Assault, then Muscle Pharm also have Shred Matrix, Re-Con and the outstanding Bullet Proof. Any of those with an overhauled formula could light up other brand’s interest in the same arena.

The last list of names are the underdogs, the companies to watch. They all have products coming in the next few months and do enough research and work to create a hit or a miss. Con-Cret (Promera), F3 Nutrition, Metabolic, Top Secret and the best in show, Cellucor.

If there were brands to add to your bookmarks list it would be these 7. There are a load of companies who have announced supplement launches for the next months but the ones that you need to look out for are the ones that have not been announced. We can only hope that 2013 brings more hits and trends like Craze, isolate proteins, Con-Cret, coleus forskohlii driven burners or Aminolast. Whatever the product may be, if it stirs some competition and pushes everyone else to do better then we can count on another year of next level supplements.
