Black Powder not so Ultra, MRI won’t be getting any new fans

Black Powder Ultra made it’s debut at this year’s Olympia Expo. It was one of the few supplement launches from that weekend. MRI had it on display and thanks to their Facebook promotion, had it on sale. It is not the easiest product to get a hold of right now and neither is the facts label. So here today is the breakdown as well as the review.

The formula is a little bit different, a mix of both reliable and not so effective ingredients. One of the big names to make the cut is mucuna pruriens, and that is the only inclusion that makes it exciting. Yes carnitine, caffeine and taurine add interest but it’s lack of B12 and citrulline leave it out of competition with the packed powders of today’s market.

The concentrated formula has dropped 8g per scoop compared to it’s predecessor. Those few grams of contents may be the reason this supplement does not perform as well as expected.

It kicks in better than the usual pre-workout but aside form that, Black Powder has nothing Ultra about it. You’ll get an early rise however the energy in the opening drops within minutes and sits about average for the rest of the session. With all this category has to offer it really needed to bring more than average.

MRI put effort into this supplement, there is no doubt there. It would be hard to find a formula on the market that hasn’t had some serious time put into it. It is just unfortunate the supplement will not be bringing the brand any new fans. Of course loyal followers will keep this in their stacks but if you are someone looking for the next best pre-workout you should be going elsewhere.
