Animal Pak vs. Vita Freak, it was never going to be a challenge

As expected VitaFreak is not the most complete multi-vitamin, the contents list has been released and Pharma stockists are now selling the incomplete supplement. In short the 8 or 9 pill filled pack does not compare to the 11 larger sized tablets of the legendary Animal Pak. If anybody is in the running for the second spot it is Armor-V, it’s doses are not as heavy however the variety more than makes up for it.

Of the ingredients Freak and Animal share, the 1983 original on more than one occasion comes out way ahead (Animal on left). These comparisons are based on pack for pack, not per serving.

Vitamin A – 4,950 IU / 5,000 IU

Vitamin C – 500mg / 250mg

Vitamin D – 340 IU / 400 IU

Vitamin E – 150 IU / 30 IU

Vitamin B6 – 90g / 10mg

Vitamin B12 – 5.5mcg / 10mcg

Folic Acid – 200mcg / 300mcg

Zinc – 15mg / 15mg

Magnesium – 200mg / 200mg

Arginine – 606.5mg / 24mg

Glutamic acid + Glutamine – 413.5mg / 181mg

Isoleucine – 142mg / 57mg

Leucine – 254.5mg / 109mg

Tryptophan – 40.5mg / 16mg

Valine – 144.5mg / 59mg

Alpha lipoic acid – 50mg / 30mg

Grapeseed – 25mg / 50mg

Coenzyme Q10 – 2.5mg / 5mg

There are very few areas where Freak takes the top, however Animal does recommend hard training athletes use two packs a day which either equals or surpasses what ever ingredient Pharma holds over the champ. In the field of amino acids Animal absolutely destroys VitaFreak. The BCAAs almost triple in dose and some of the others even have more than 20 times what Freak does.

In the important categories Animal Pak reigns supreme. Pharma’s tagline – ‘nothing is more complete’, as expected is total bullshit. The yellow tin not only beats out the tainted green one with doses but it’s total ingredients, 64 – 55. The other big winner is that Animal sells at most retailers for under $30 for 44 packs. VitaFreak only has 30 and is priced on the uglier side of $30.

The only thing that needed to be proven was that the Animal still rules the roost. Pharma may have attempted to mimic the untouchable supplement, but the package and advertising is all talk and no walk. Simply turn it around, check the price and doses and your faith should be lost within seconds.
